Job Seeker Visa in Canada
Canada is known to have a low unemployment rate which is very attractive to many people looking for work there. It is a superb place for IT professionals as the country is rapidly introducing new modern technologies that are revolutionising the field. There are wonderful affordable healthcare plans that are available for workers and there are many benefits for new mothers as well. Canada is known to be one of the most affordable countries to live in compared to other developed countries. Diversity is looked upon favourably and encouraged in Canada which is one of the reasons why people from other countries love going there.
Why a Canadian work visa?
A Canadian work visa will allow the individual to work for the employer that gave them the job available in Canada. Getting a work visa also means that it is much easier for an individual to get their Permanent Residency(PR) visa sooner.

Types of Work Visas in Canada
An applicant can either apply for an open work permit or an employer-specific work permit. With the former, applicants can work for any employer that they wish to, whereas, with the latter, they are only allowed to work for the employer that allowed them to apply for the work visa.
Work Permit Application Process
Follow the given steps properly so that you can get your work visa:
Applying for the Labour Market Impact Assessment(LMIA)
This is a document that a Canadian employer needs to possess if they wish to hire someone from another country. If the LMIA is positive, it means that the skills of the foreign worker are definitely needed to complete a certain job. This is also an indication that there is no Canadian worker who is available to complete the same. The Employment and Social Development Canada/Service Canada(ESDC) will check if the LMIA is valid or not. The applicant will have to submit a copy of the LMIA, its number, as well as their contract and job letter if they want to apply for the work permit.
Applying for the work permit
As mentioned before, if the LMIA has been deemed positive, the employer can now proceed with hiring the foreign worker that they wish to. A copy of this confirmation letter received from the ESDC must be sent to the foreign worker(valid for a period of 6 months from the day that it has been issued). After this is done, the employer has to request a foreign national to help in applying for the foreign worker’s work visa through the Canadian Visa Office. In the case that the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada(IRCC) find the work visa to be positive on assessment, this means that the foreign worker may receive the visa and make their dreams of working in Canada come true.
